Week #90 Taastrup

HERNING ROUND 2!!! That's right my new comp is ELDER HOWE! I am way stoked haha! And hopefully we will go longer than 2 weeks this time ;) And Elder Andersen and Elder Kearon were straight FIRE!!

Taastrup Bros

Well I don't have too much time but real quick we taught Finn and Pernilla. We read Ether 12 and talked all about faith. Finn is a member and his wife isn't and he got way stoked on JKE. We taught them this morning, I forgot how well elder Howe and I teach together, and we asked them why we ask them to read because they forgot to read... Then we found out they do not have a testimony of the Book of Mormon. so we read Moroni 10 3 thorugh 5 and went way deep with it and connected it to the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that was way fire! We taught Raul and he was a little drunk about the Book of Mormon. It is just a little hard with him because his mom doesn't think religion is the way to help Raul... But Raul is going down with drinking at least. We taught Familien hansen. A family of three and they are WAY positive! They were taught by missionaries in the past and have had baptismal dates and have been to church a lot. Their only problem is the WOW. But they said Mormons Bog is true and Joseph Smith is a true prophet! And get this! They have a pic of the temple on their wall and a statue of Christ so they are way positive!! Andreas is doing way good! We taught him how to recognize the spirit and it was the best lesson I have taught in a while. We read in Corinthians how spiritual things are learned in spiritual ways. Then we asked him what he felt when he comes to church and reads in Mormons Bog. He said peace and rest. So we read in John how the Holy Ghost testifies of truth and in Galatians what the fruits of the spirit are. Which match his feelings so he knows that it is true!! We pushed back his date to the beginning of July because he will be done with school by then. And he came to church on Sunday!!

Mission Conference

SO FIRE!! It was great to see everyone!! I love like everyone in this mission it is just one big family! We could feel Elder Andersen when he walked it! It was way cool. And Elder Kearon was awesome as well! Their wives also taught us and it was just so good! Some of the highlights were Sister kearon focusing on no effort is wasted. Her daughter is serving in Calvin's mission in New Zealand and she said if she could tell her one thing it would be that. Elder Kearon taught us that we need to ACT with what we learn and that we have a lot of influence in one's conversion. More than we think. I also liked that he said BECOME the message and be passionate about it. Then Elder Andersen taught us and it was so cool to be so close to a special witness of Jesus Christ. He started talking about how there is no mission harder than another mission. He talked a lot about unity and when one baptizes we all baptize in the mission. He promised us that people are here in Denmark that want to be baptized so we just have to find them! So I am acting on that by trying to open my mouth with everyone I see! He said we need to have more faith to find everyday and the certain groups we should look for are younger people, in transition, immigrants, and people associated with members. He said that is the main focus and on the other list not our main focus are families, already believing people and people that can contribute to the ward. He told us to memorize scriptures in the New Testament to teach about Christ. Sister Andersen taught about the Holy Ghost and it was way good! We need to keep ourselves as worthy as possible to have it. And we cannot do the work of the Lord without the Holy Ghost. she also said Elder Andersen taught us things she has not heard him teach other missions. And they held three other conferences before us. Elder Andersen said we need to keep the faith alive in this country and talked about what happens when the mission is over. And what he said is that we need to get our testimony of Christ and Mormons Bog in our bones! Then we can never go wrong. His testimony was so so so strong! When he talked about Christ it was unbelievable! He has no doubts whatsoever. So cool. And he is a funny outgoing guy which is cool to see an apostle's personality!

So Elder Tank Erickson is going to Århus. Elder jensen is going home. Elder Bennet is going to Nykøbing. Elder hager is in my zone finally. I am doing good with exercises. And we live right by the train station so that is the reason i have been tired in the past. So our zone is doing great!! The unity is bumping! We had 5 baptisms last transfer and 13 more on date for this transfer! So things are looking pretty good! No update on Monique but I saw William at the fireside last Friday with Elder Andersen and he is doing good. The infinite atonement is so FIRE! It helped my testimony on the Plan of Salvation so much! HAHAHAHA i love the hand signals they are doing! trying to be like elder reed! Well that is a wrap! Remember to read the Book of Mormon everyday everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Week #89 Taastrup

Wow it is already week six of the transfer! Fastest transfer ever recorded! We had a great week full of splits, miracles, and success!!

Splits 4 dayzz

So I went on three splits this week which was a whole bunch! The first started off with Elder Ty Erickson. Take us back to the glory days! Right after p day we set out to a family in Gladsaxe 2 ward and ate and then painted! We just schemed about everything possible while painting so that was way chill haha! Then Tuesday was pretty chill! We were supposed to teach a part member fam in the morning but only the inactive member was awake because they were doing something until 6 in the morning... lolz weird.. anyways! We got to know Finn and asked if he wanted to come back to church and he said yes so we tried getting him to read in Mormons Bog everyday and he said næh! He doesn't want to be an extremist! Then I asked him if he could read a chapter before next time and then we could talk about it and he was like I will just pray so he prays. Haha so we bounced real quick from there! Then we went to the HUTS and knocked! We covered like a kilometer of huts in like two hours and just went way hard! We found a lady from Vietnam whose sister just converted to Christianity in America and she said her sister is way happy! So she is pretty positive! Then we stopped by some bros and found out an old investigator was dead... wasn't expecting that... It was a way fun chill splits! On Wednesday I went on splits with Elder Rodriguez from the MTC! Crazy we get to go on splits with each other! We taught R who was drunk lolz! I called him out on it! Highlights were that he saw the hand of the person who killed Jesus, that Jylland is Pakistan, and that he wants to be sexy again. I pretty much promised him that he would be sexy if he stops smoking and drinking haha! But we tried to teach him about Repentance and the atonement and gave him the Alma the younger story. Then we stopped by a fam that got taught the gosple a year ago and they were WAY stoked to see us again and we made an appoitment with them for another day. Then we contacted a bro from Nigeria and we teach him and then at the end of the contact he and Elder Rodriguez just start speaking Spanish!! haha so crazy! Never met a guy from africa that can speak spanish and who do i happen to have with me! So cooL! Then we knocked some huts and a lady contacted US and asked us to meet so that was way cool! Then on Saturday we went on splits with Elders Jeppson and Zeigler and it was way chill. We stopped by some bros no one was home and so we knocked some huts! We found a bro that said we could come back from Turkey so that was chill. Then we stopped by D and S who were dropped a year ago and they got way stoked to see us! We taught them the POS with a little Restoration mix and it went way well. We are going to try to help them get a testimmony of the Book of Mormon so that will be good!

Bros ;)

The rest of the squad is doing pretty well who I didn't mention with splits! Andreas is doing well but I guess he has exams until June so he is still a little busy so we are pushing back his date. We went on a walk through Albertslund with him up a little mountain and around a lake. So that was chill. We asked how he has seen God help him and he said that he was taking a test and asked God for help and he said God helped him so that was cool. He didn't come to church on Sunday because of a marthon he promised ot help with a couple months ago. We taught our Bristish friend Jean. Kinda cool story. Elder Jared Amos is from Britain and is visiting denmark and we ran into him and told him we are teaching a British woman and so he asked to come teach with us! Way cool! She wanted to know what happens with us when we die and we tried explaing that Joseph Smith through the book of mormon revealed these truths for us. Way good lesson but she doesn't want to meet again until a couple months. And then P who we put on dåbs dato last Friday is awesome! So total miracle story! So Elder Erickson and I stop by and he isn't home so we are about to bike away when elder Erickson thinks he saw him. And Elder Erickson has only met him once for like 10 seconds. I look and it is him! So we say hi to him and he tells us sorry for burning our last appointment and tells us to sit down with him on the bench. Then we taught him the Restoration focusing on the gospel of Jesus Christ and he just wants to find the truth. It was way cool someone calls during the lesson and he tells them he cant talk right now he is talking to his friends about the word of God! and we invited him to be baptized on the first of July and he said yes! So we are way excited for Prince!!! Gods timing is so great!!!

So Joey is on his way to New Zealand haha! Haha and i will be sending letters your guys way! I just need time to write a cute little message ;) <3 And i am catching up on my sleep! But it has been a crazy transfer always busy! Excersises are going! So we switched the talent show to week two of next transfer because of the mission conference! We are all way excited! The zone is doing great! We just had two baptisms and have one more next week. We focused on finding this week and found a lot of new friends but we let our foucs slip on church so we need to refocus on that again! Can you also pray for P! I don't know how m is doing... I ant wait to see the flowers! And that is some great insight on the Plan of Salvation. In the beginning of my mission I didn't like teaching it so much because I didn't really understand it but know it is the most spiritual lesson to teach with just focusing on Jesus Christ and our potenial. And Danes are way skeptical of it thats why i like teaching the Restoration first so after they have a little testimony of the Restored Gospel then they will apreciate the Plan more. It is hard to teach athiests it but if they do believe the lessons are so powerful! I am almost done with the Infinite Atonement and I just read how we need to come to take the sacrament hungry and ready to feast! And we need to REFLECT on how our lives are in harmony with the Saviors. that difference will be made by the Savior after we do our part but we can do our part by doing our best to always remembering Him and what he has done for him! I love you guys so much!!!!!!

Week #88 Taastrup

Halløjsa!! Good snak yesterday ;) That was way fun and crazy next time we talk face to face will be in person! #yeet! Well because I pretty much told you my life from this week I will just sum up everything that went down this week!

Taastrup Bros

Well the squad in Taastrup is doing pretty swell! Highlights would be on splits teaching a Jehova's witness and making her interrested in the Plan of Salvation! yeet! And I was with Elder Evans which was way fun! We talked to people on our way to everything and the weirdest conversation we had was talking to a lady who said she is convinced that she is athiest because she has lived 59 years... Wait what lolz! And we met a bro from Africa named Mohammad Ali who was posted feeding ducks and the weirdest smell of drugs, alcohol and tabacco was in his breath and he told us to talk to his good friend and pointed at another African strolling down in the park... lolz one big happy family! Then we met P who I told you guys about who we got prompted to turn around and talk to him. And he wouldn't let us write the adress to the church in the Book of Mormon because he said it is the Word of God! He burned us though but we got his address so that will be good! Then we ended splits getting lost in the huts and eating domino pizza! A is doing good! HE is such slammed with school and finals but he is finished on Thursday so that will be clutch! And M is doing good! We read Mosiah 3 with her and talked all about Jesus Christ! Way good stuff! The work is fire over here!!!

Life is a Highway or Train way

So our whole Friday was consisted of training or on a bus or a train! It was way fun and a good booster kept me going through it! We trained on comp unity which was way fun and me made some funny comments of old companions of stupid arguments that have happend. We started by me pouring a bowl of ceral and slurping the milk and tank would just freak out! haha it was gold! And the 30 day trainign on Wednesday was so much fun! We talked about having the faith to find, faith leading to miracles and how no area is a dead area. Then we talked about OYM and the blessings that came from it and had a role play to every specific area of them opening your mouth! Then we talked about IMPROVED finding and gave them our wisdom for that!

So we didn't play soccer last saturday but we will play this saturday! And we have a bunch of investigators here, just the three you guys are praying for are on baptismal date :) We have found a lot so yea! M is doing good! Elder Dibble met with her for the first time last week and they had a BBQ with some young bros in the ward. I think it is so cool you guys are working in the temple! So FIRE! Well fam i love you guys! You guys are awesome and I am so thankful because of you this mission is possible!!!!!

Week #87 Taastrup

Hey fam fam!!! So mom will be so proud of my shopping skills! haha! Ill get to that in a sec! And we got another friend on date this week so stay tuned but I do not have too much time....

Taastrup work flow

Elder Erickson and I had a great week! We found four new friends and got another friend on date so things are going really well here in Taastrup. Some of the highlights of last week were contacting a referral from Elder Perkins best friend's mom in Utah. She just lost her husband and we taught her about faith and the Plan of Salvation and she was like you guys need to come back. So that was pretty sweet! Another new friend we got this week was from Henry's baptism. A member brought a 19 year old friend with and Elder Erickson and I hit it off great with him. After the baptism we asked what he thought about it and he loved it! Then we taught him the Restoration on the spot and he loved it! He asked us if we could meet up again so that was way awesome! Another miracle we experienced this week is that we were getting off the S train around 9 30 one night and out of no where Elder Erickson spots Mary Ann who we have been trying to get in contact with for two months. We make an appointment and the next day we teach her about the gospel of Jesus Christ and she accepted to be baptized in the beginning of June!! Our other friends on date are doing pretty well. Raul needs to just get a desire to change. We ate with him and his mom and we talked a lot about the Philippines shout out to Katelynn! The mom doesn't want to hear the message haha she said next time we come and eat Pilipino food lets not talk about religion haha! Yeet! And Andreas should be getting baptized in the next couple weeks. He has come to church four times now. He feels the spirit and he has great young friends from CUV. Elder Erickson and I taught him yesterday right after church and we read 3 Nephi 11 and then we all got down on our knees and prayed and asked if it was true and the spirit was SO strong!! It was a great moment on my mission and Andreas said he could feel so much peace after that. So we are excited for his baptism! We had two friends in church! One was Andreas and the other was Chi who is married to a member and he is from China! We had a lot of eating appointments with members. One we got to go out for Indian food and ice cream and they had two bros from BYU with them and one served in Tahiti so I got all the inside scoop from his mission! And Brother Casper our MTC teacher showed up out of no where to a baptism which was NUTS! We spoke Danish with him and it is crazy how far we have come with our Danish! We also played soccer again which was way fun!

The buy of the year

So one late night Elder Erickson and I were walking on the shopping street in a city called Abertslund which is my favorite city ever to do missionary work in! And so it was like eight at night when all the shops were supposed to be closed but there was one bumping music and so we looked and there was a lot of yellow for sale signs! So we peek in and we see these suits so of course we are going to look! And we saw these Lingbear suits which is a really nice Sweden brand and they usually cost 2500 kroner. BUT they were on sale for 800 kroner!! So they were 70 percent off!!!! And then some bros came and welcomed us to the store opening and gave us Pepsi and then I bought the suit and it is the nicest thing ever! It is navy blue and has stiching all around the suit! So nice I am getting married in that thing! ;) haha and it is crazy because that is the night that we ran into Mary Ann so if we didn't do that we would never have ran into her! Crazy how the Lord works!

So I have no idea what time we are skyping or where..... we will find out and I will write you so you guys know!! I am so stoked to skype you guys!!! Health is great! Just a little tired from all the business and the soccer skills are slowly coming back!haha give me a transfer. A lot of travel is required to hit everyone in the zone! So tuesday to thursday there is a 30 day in the land meeting and every district has at least one person in it and we have to give district meetings this week so we can only do them on Friday so we are going all over Sjælland in one day... haha it will be good! And we get to train the new trainees on finding this thursday because the aps will be in there going home meeting! So we are stoked for that! And the zone is doing great! We had two baptisms last week and a lot more to come! And yea we laugh like a walrus! And the Frederiksberg ward is so big so it is really hard to get to know people so I am just focusing on the young people and investigators! And Andreas is on for the 20th! And could you pray for MAry Ann as well! And Monique is done with her break! There is no date yet but I guess it was her dad who is against the church for some reason... Will I Am is doing good! I was supposed to see him on Thursday but we couldn't get an investigator to CUV so we didn't show up. I totally forgot about that Italian resturant in Seattle! Well I gotta teach a brotha from Nigeria right now so I gotta bounce but I love you guys and see ya on Sunday!!!!

Week 86 Taastrup

HEY FAM!!! Wow it is already May! Time is flying by soooo fast!!! And I love Taastrup, Elder Erickson is so dope, the Zone is doing great, and the short sleeve white shirts are coming out!!!

Taastrup BROs

Taastrup is such a great area! I love it so much! Elder Erickson are so busy but we still managed to find four new friends from not knocking or contacting so that was pretty awesome. This is a pretty cool miracle story. So we were going out to do service and a 18 year old bro asked us for some directions. Then he thought we came from Sweden and then got way pumped when we said we came from America. We ended up teaching him the Joseph Smith story on a bus, got his number, and we are giving him a church tour tomorrow! This young bro is way prepared and it was way cool that he talked to us. Another cool miracle story. Elder Erickson and I were going out one morning to stop by an old investigator from the area book and as we were crossing the street, I realized that I forgot his address so we turned around to go do something else. Right when we turned around, we saw that investigator walking down the street. We flagged him down and we got to know him and taught him the Gospel of Jesus Christ and he agreed to be baptized on the 3rd of June!! Total miracle! He is addicted to smoking and drinking and he really wants to change his life. We stopped by him on Saturday to remind Raul about church and he let us in, and he looked great! He is already smoking less and drinking less! We taught him about living prophets and he loved it! And he came to church on Sunday so he is doing pretty well, we just got to strengthen his faith in Jesus Christ. I learned with him the worth of souls are so great in the sight of God and that God will never give up on his children from Raul. Andreas who is also pn dåbs dato is doing fantastic! He is such a great investigator. When I heard he was a young bro I was like we gotta be chill with him because that is how I taught Carolina, NAdia, and William who all got baptized. So we got a kebab with hiim and just talked to him! And then he brought up the gospel!! We taught him the Restoration last week and it went so well. He is so prepared. We were talking about recognizing the spirit and getting an answer to prayer and he said two weeks ago he said his first ever prayer and after he said, Kære Himmelske Fader, he could feel the spirit so strong!! Romans 8 16!! And he came to institute last week and Jens Andersen taught about Jesus Christ and after they were talking and Jens asked Andreas if he felt that it was true and he said yes! He is getting so many friends from YSA and at church!! So we are way excited to prepare him to baptism. :) We also got to teach Chi who is a member snon member husband the Restoration after service and dinner and it was WAY spiritual! SO we got some really good things going down up here in Taastrup!

Zone Goodness! :)

So Elder Erickson and I got to give the last zone training because of a decision from the First Presidency which is chill. The STLs were supposed to give the whole Plan of Salvation training and we were supposed to talk about the zone goal but... they gave us an extra 25 minutes. Big curve ball.. but no worries we improvised with a role play and talked about the Plan of Salvation. Then we talked about the zone goal. Elder Erickson and I asked how the unity is going in the zone and everyone said it was going great and they love hearing miracle stories and how it is awesome to hear how other missionaries are doing in their work. :) And it really isn't hype, it is that everyone is seeing the Lord's hand in the work and they are seeign the fruits of it. Henry B. Erying promises us if our hearts are united we will be joyful and receive more power and that is exactly what is happening in the zone. We are all united and the Lord is blessing us so much and everyone is feeling the good vibes going around the zone. We made a baptism goal with the zone of 10 this transfer and we wrote names of people who probably will get baptized this transfer and it was over 10 so, so we are way excited to see a lot of baptisms this transfer. And everyone is doing great getting their friends to church. In Frederiksberg on Sunday, there was 10 investigators in church and 6 had a baptismal date! So the work is really moving forward!!

Frederiksberg Welcome

I got to play soccer in Gladsaxe like i did in my first area!!! It was so fun! A lot of the bros remembered me and I got an eating appoitment from it! We played 11 on 11 in freezing spring rain and hail and it was so fun!!! Then I got a call from the bishopric that I get to give a talk the next day... lovley haha! But no worries it was just my testimony on Thomas S. Monson. I got up there and said one thing you guys need to know about me is that I laugh like Elder Hartmann, who just went home and he served in the ward for half a year and we have the same walrus life, and I started laughing and everyone started loosing their minds haha! At FHE last night, a girl told me my talk was the topic of some facebook discussion about my laugh haha! So i am pretty tight with the ward! I shared the Dare to Stand Alone story and said how that helped William in Slagelse and then how the Book of Mormon changes lives and that is what THomas S. Monson promised us if we read the Book of Momon! So I came in with a pretty good bang haha! Oh and a Danish girl who I met at the MTC gave a talk with me so that was way cool and weird that me met at the MTC and then gave talks during the same sacrament meeting in Denmark... crazy! And she gave me a shout out in her talk so that was clutch!! The ward is so awesome I love it so much!!! I think because of my talk we got 6 eating appointments this week so pray that i don't get even fatter haha! ;)

Health has been great! The zone got more than half of all the key indicators in the mission so it is doing very well. I think 25 in church and 14 on date! J is way flakly he burned us even after we confirmed it with him on Tuesday... But if you could pray for Andreas and Raul that would be great! So Monique said she needs a little pause so she can be sure that this is the path she wants to go on... So if you could pray for her too that would be awesome! Andreas said he needed a pause like two weeks ago but now he is back stronger then ever so I am not too worried. I think she will miss the spirit and realize that the gospel is true happiness :) William is doing great. I am going to see him on Thursday at Institute so that will be sweet! HAHAHAHAHA i bet dad looked way hot in his white suit hahahaha that just made my day!! Be careful dad not to distract people from the message of the temple because they will all be focused on you ;) That is awesome the bishopric came when you guys were there and I forgot about DQ! It is sooo good!! Haha yeet! Dad always spits fire on the pulpit ;)  That is awesome Mark Poth is the athletic director at Big Bend and wants to add soccer! Too bad I can't play there that could have been way fun! And lets hope ML goes way clutch in the play offs! I can't believe I am skyping for the last time in two Sundays! Crazy!! Well parents I love you! And a big thing I have been focusing on is not to be prideful! Because of all the success the zone is having we are trying to avoid getting prideful. I like how it says in Lehi's dream that the great and spacious building was built high in the air which means it didn't have a foundation and always in the scriptures it says lifted up in pride. There is no foundation in pride and the prideful one will crumble. So lets remember Ammon's words to his brothers to glory and rejoice in God because of Him, everything is possible! Love You GUYS!!!!!
