Week #81 Slagelse

BEVARE NØGLERNE That would be the theme of this week for sure haha! I will get into that in a little bit!

Work Flow

The work here is pretty fire I would say. We have been teaching a lot of people but not too many of them are down to follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ and only think faith is enough... Well on that note that takes us to Tuesday where we went to Næstved with J who got his mission call to Switzerland! We taught A who is way old and taught her the Restoration focusing on the Gospel of Jesus Christ and it went way well! The spirit was way strong and she told us that she knows the Book of Mormon is as true as the Bible and that our church is the Restored church of Christ, BUT she has been baptized already and she said faith is enough even though we told her that one needs to follow the rest of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So the scheme with her is to teach her about not procrastinating the day of her repentance and the best way to repent is by baptism whichi is the first fruits of baptism! Then we taught P but she was sick and she hasn't kept a commitment yet.. so that is pretty jank but it is the norm with our African friends who love Jesus. Oh and in the morning Elder Dibble and I were knocking doors in the morning last Tuesday and only old Danish ladies who were like a thousand years old kept on answering the door and wouldn't give us the time of day.. I was definitely losing my patience haha after an hour of the same old thing and then we FINALLY see a young bro! Perfect timing too because he walks out of his house at the exact same time we get a quick no from a 80 year old Danish lady, and the bro is like whats up and we explain how we are Americans out to spread the good news and he is like I am 100 percent atheist and is about to dip to work out so he had no time. We ask to walk with the bro and he said hes down. SO we are talking with this guy find out his purpose in life is to raise his son as best as he can and we teach him the Restoration! It was way awesome and he took a book and was like so if I read this book and pray SINCERELY I will get an answer! NETOP i said or exactly! I never had a Dane actually get it down on the first time telling him about Moroni's promise so good things are brewing there! Lets get an atheist to believe in God! Operation M was a fail haha I don't want to get into too much detail but I guess he is not adopted by these members he is just living with them and so yea.. it might take a while before he gets baptized but we will see. Elder Beck called on Thursday and said that his train was delayed in Nykøbing so we would have to push district meeting back a little bit so we went by I who is on dåbs dato. We went in and she started talking about every single possible topic a 85 year old could talk about! haha From Donald Trump to how Danish will disappear in 50 years haha but we were trying to save the lesson and tell her that we have a modern day prophet who can guide and counsel us during these questionable times and it still went no where... Then we asked if she has read anything lately and she said she read Moroni 8 about infant baptism and she knows that it is true. That is in an abomination to the Lord and that is the biggest problem here in Denmark. We then explained the Gospel of Jesus Christ and that the first fruits of repentance is baptism and an infant can not repent because they are not responsible for their sins. She knows she has to be baptized again and we have to push the date back a little because she has not been to church yet but no worries there!! We taught A on Friday and again, she believes that our church is the same church Christ had but is not willing to repent. She said thanks for helping her become Christian but she is not willing to repent and read the Book of Mormon and pray. SHe even bought cross earings to show her faith in Jesus Christ so yea... We played sport on Saturday with Will I Am and M and a bro from the Phillipians played too! We got way tight with him and are going to start playing volleyball with him and try to teach him so that should be good! I love working with young bros! And Sunday was an adventure for sure! We met with I at her house and walked to the Holy Ghost church in the morning. THe city was absolutly dead haha probs everyone was hung over... anyways we got to this church and it was so different hahaaha! The priest was a woman who is over the priests and holds keys over them and she was voted to be where she is. She preached about blessings how miracles do not happen anymore or how we can not become like God.. That was a little jank and then everyone got up to take the sacrement and Elder Dibble and I jsut chilled and like 25 people got up and just stared at us for not getting up. ALso all the prayers were recited and there was no testimony born.. Shout out to being apart of the Restored Church of Jesus Christ wow!! And haha we met the priest after and she was way scared to talk to her. Dibs and I thought that she was scared because she knew we could wreck her doctrinally. Bevare nøglerne means preserve the keys meaning the priesthood if you know what I mean ;) Then we sat while everyone ate brunch and explained to everyone that we were fasting and all these old people loved us!! An old lady even gave us a hug after it was all over haha! I love Danish culture so chill all the time! Then we went to our church with I and I L which was way great! They could definitley feel the spirit during the testimony meetings and the ward came in clutch with everyone bearing testimony of the Restoration! It was so clutch!! Oh and we took Will I Am out with us on Saturday to do missionary work which was way fun!

Take me to København

Temple trip on Friday! SO after a crazy chain of events of praying for a delayed train, having the train be delayed, we made it to the temple. It was great to see Elder Erickson and the rest of the squad there! The session was awesome and it was so school to see three recent converts there! Frank, Margit, and William! And it has been over a year since I have been in the temple and I was on a spiritual high after leaving it was so great! I am definitly going to make it a goal to go to the temple as often as possible when I get home! And after we had a birthday dinner for the homie Elder Erickson because it was his birthday! SO the bro bought us all pizza and we had a great time reliving the dope times we had with William! !

Health has been 100 percent. Oh and Elder Dibble and I are running twice a day so we will be thin when we come home! ;) We just went on a 5k with WIlliam in the woods!! The love handles are chizzling away! And that would be so sick to see Jared come to Denmark!! YEa Elder Dibble is going to dance after the mission! And I will keep an eye on you guys during conference ;) No way you get to meet Nick's girl!! Send me pics!! And no way you guys will embarrass him! You guys are too cool! :D Haha and I am down to be a comidian with all of you goons! We all have way crazy personalities so why not! Haha that was so legendary!! I totally forgot about that video! I look sooo little!! Shout out for missions! And Gonzaga might actually do it.... Washington pride i guess!! Well fam I love you so much and life is good! Spring has finally come and the sun is shinning!!!

Week #80 Slagelse

Jamen Davs familie! This was a pretty dang good week here in Slagelse! Way busy with Zone Training, splits, and chilling in a lotus!! Stay tuned! ;)

Friends

So the work here is on FIRE!! We put I on baptismal date on Tuesday for the 15th of April! SO we are way stoked for that. She knows the Book of Mormon is true and that Jospeh Smith is a prophet of God and that the Plan of Salvation is true! The only thing holding her back is that she has been baptized, confirmed, married and has worked in the Danish People Church for 80 years and she doesn't want to switch churches even though she knows that our church is true.. SO we got to be pretty bold and ask her her priorities.. if it is either her pride or salvation! We will see what goes down. We taught I and L at the church on Tuesday. They were the ladies that invited Elder Erickson and I over to Christmas dinner out of now where a couple months back.. Anywho we finally got to meet up with them and we taught them the Restoration and it went ight. The spirit was definatley there but they just wanted to be taught for a social reason if that makes any sense. Anyways they didn't take a Book of Mormon but they did say that they will come to church this Sunday and we agreed that we would go to their church as well. SO we are going to the Holy Ghost church and seeing some woman priest do something... It should be interesting haha! Then we found a couple friends knocking in Næstved so that was pretty dope! Using the Book of Mormon and the Joseph Smith story is so easy haha! Everytime ELder Dibble and I have gone out finding we have always found someone! We taught S and N who are from Iraq and they are Christain. They looked up some jank anti Mormon stuff and said our churches were complety different and then we explained that Jospeh smith is not Jesus Christ to us and we don't worship the devil... lol the anti stuff people tell us is a joke! And they gave the Book of Mormon to a priest of theirs and they want us to talk about it with him and see what goes down! So that should be interresting! Thursday was pretty nuts because I had to make like 5 pizzas for a little party this inactive couple was throwing so we went hard and made pizzas! Elder Reed's hidden talent!! And we taught K who has a girlfriend in Thailand.. I always leave his house laughing haha it is just a big question mark every time we teach him but he does believe in Christ and God so that is a start! We had splits on Friday with Elders Thurman and Jeppson in Holbæk and it was so chill. Elder Thurman goes home this transfer and is sooo funny haha! I had the funnest knocking sesh ever with the bro. Just to paint a pic for you guys a pic we knocked on a door and a 90 year old Danish lady answered and then he says hello how are you doing in japanese! haha! But we ended up getting a new friend named S who is pretty chill and has a bunch of tats! Then we ate at Frank M an American in the ward who is way dope! HE invited us over for sandwhiches with the sisters and had a great American time! Then Frank showed us his lotus car which is way nice and we had a little pic sesh! We played soccer on Saturday which was way fun! And then Elder Bennet called me and told me that a bro that we know from Herning is in a Epilepsy hosptial in Dianalund and he wants visits from missionaries so we go to visit him and i felt like i was in an insane asylum! There was no workers to be seen and there was so many doors that kept on shutting and when we got to M's room his name wasnt on the white board so we went through a maze trying to find a doctor to ask where our bro is and it turns out he dipped! So what ever that means?? We had M in church who lives with adopted parents and he is 14. He isnt baptized and in Priesthood he was like we can show faith in Christ if we get baptized! And then he was talking to me a lot and he never has so we are going to stop by him this week and see what is up with him!! So the work is going great here in Slagelse!!!!!

Zone Training

So on Wednesday we had zone training in Roskilde! We brought our home boy Will I Am! We taught on how we can use the new key indicators to achieve our zone goal! SO we gave a training on how we can give out Book of Mormons to get new friends, how to set bros on date, and focused on church and what to do with our friends after they said yes to baptism! Then the second half of it was conversion stories and we had William bare his testimony which was way FIRE!!! Then we taught how we can share our conversion story with people on the street and with our investigators! It was pretty good to say the least!!

And my health has been good! I was just way tired because of all the things going on but i am doing good now!! And I never took extra time to sleep! SO yea we are going to the tempel on Friday and it is Elder Ericksons b day so he is taking us out to pizza after which will be way fun!! And all the Danish children just have technoligy and are just around their parents who smoke and drink all the time so I think it is pretty sad how the kids are raised.... And that bro on the train was definatley on drugs haha! And the laugh is spreading in the mission!! lolzz! That would sick to face time mom all the time when I am at school! ;) I am in!! And that was an awesome power point! IT is cool to see the cultural differences between Denmark and Tahitti! And no way Nick is serious with a girl! SHow me pics please!!! No way Duke is out they always lose... Gonzaga for the win!! Love you guys!! You are the best!!!!

Week #79 Slagelse

AYE FAM!!! Happy Monday!! Well first week down in Slagelse with Elder Dibble and it has been the most happy and busy week ever!! Stay tuned!!

Friends

Elder Dibble and I are so busy we could only manage to squeeze in one hour of knocking this week but in that one our we found 2 WAY positive families that I will dive into in a little bit! K ate with us again last Monday. It was pretty chill. She is progressing way slow and not really wanting to give up smoking so yea.. Then Tuesday was a crazy day! We taught A in Korsør who hasn't been too positive but we taught her the gospel of Jesus Christ and she actually wanted to change so we commited her to pray to God for help and to see if he loves her! Then we taught I and tried inviting her to baptism and she kept brushing it off so we recommited to have her pray if she should be baptized. Then that same day we went down to Næstved with J who just got his mission call to the Alpine German speaking mission and taught three lessons. One was to a lady from the Ivory Coast and we were going to teach her about the Plan of Salvation but she ended up teaching us about opposition in all things and happiness and it was way good and we are getting her to read Mormons Bog. Then we taught K and in the middle of us talking about how our baptism is different then any other baptism her three teenage daughters came smoking and sat around us and it was way jank haha! But no worries I gooned them way hard and taught them the word clutch in english. Then Wednesday we found the most postive family ever!! They moved to Denmark from Iraq like 20 plus years ago and they drive to church every Sunday to Copenhagen from Næstved so Slagelse is way easier and closer ;) Then on Thursday we were about to put our old bro named P on dåbs dato but as we knocked on his door some doctor told us he has gone further... SO P died and then I texted Elder Erickson that he died and at that moment he was in District meeting up North and the question was what are some disappointing times or depressing times on a mission and he said when your investigator dies.... what timing!! Anyways we finally got to see W again!! He is doing was solid! We went to get kebabs with him on Saturday and we are going to the tempel with him in two Fridays so we are way stoked for that!!! We also found a bro who is half brasilien and half Danish and he has a big family! We have an appoitment with him next Saturday so we are way stoked for that! And S a less active member is hooking it up with the referrals and I am making pizza for like 6 of her friends on Thursday! #prayforelderreed haha It will be dope! Good things are happening here in Slagelse!

KBH

Well it is that time of the transfer for MLC and leadership training! So we went to Copenhagen on Thursday! Oh and on the train some bro starts talking to us and he was the craziest bro I have ever seen! haha he comes up to us and tells us how ties make us look snobby and how Elder Dibble and I looked like strippers lol!! Haha and then he told me I look like a sales man! Then he was like ok we got a train ride convince me to join your church and then he continues to tell us his life story. When he gets off we give him a book of Mormon and then he yells in English I love you guys!! hahaha! It was so funny! And then on the plantform he looks through the window sees Elder Dibble and I and points at the book of Mormon and gives us a thumbs up... haha! He said when he needs God he will stab the book with a knife and read where the knife got to! Probs in the middle of 2 Nephi #isaihchapters... haha he was nuts!! Anyways we had a meeting with all the leadership in the mission and then we ate pizza and went to MLC at President's home! It was way fun! We have a way solid group of leadership! And MLC was all about Focusing on the Four. So the four key indicators and we will be training on that on Wednesday so it will be good! And we are going to focus on our conversion story! It will be way good!

And no I wasn't sick at MLC!! We had to role play so Elder Dibble and I hit the beds! And I havn't been sick at all this last week!! Elder Dibble is great! We are always soooo happy and we both have the same laaugh so just imagine what our investigators think ;) haha! This transfer will definatly fly by! Jace is already five!!! What!!!! Reid dog is straight gooning!!! haha! He is getting so big! And no way sister Howell is going home!!! What!! We were in the MTC together! Crazy! I did complete my sister mission last week which is cra cra!!! And I don't think I look like Nick.... And how is the soccer team looking this year?? And I got my package!! Thank you so much!! I love The Infinite Atonement book! Oh and btws i gave a talk on the atonement yesterday and it was way fire I hope! ;) I based it off the talk that they always remember him 2015 October conference! Take a peek at it, you won't regret it;) Jeg elsker jer så højt!!!

Week #78 Slagelse

TRANSFERS!!! So I guess Elder Erickson and I were just too fire together so they had to split us up to spread the fire ;) And my new comp is Elder Dibble!!! He is so awesome!! He is from Draper Utah and he is a pro dancer! Haha Elder Bennet told me that we will be the happiest companionship ever so it will be good I am way pumped to work with him!!!

Splits

So we had two sets of splits this week in Copenhagen and we were actually only in our area for two days which was a struggle this week but no worries!! So on Monday we went up to Copenhagen on P day and cruised around up there on Støjet the big walking street with Elder Cody Jensen while Elder Shuppy played a card game. And then Elder Jensen came in way clutch and bought us sushi and this way fire place and Elder Erickson, Elder Jensen and I had such a bro time haha! It was great! And then Elder Jensen and I went to an eating appoitment where I spoke Americansk with a Danish member in Copenhagen which made me lose my mind haha! And I guess there is a HUGE rivalry between Slagelse and Frederiksberg in reference to missionary work and her husband was the was mission leader or ward missionary so he had a hay day when he heard I am serving in Slagelse haha! I have never been trolled so much in my life! It was fun and then we went and contacted for an hour. We stopped two people and gave out two book of Mormons like candy! Finding is too easy now ;) Then the next day was an adventure!! So JP who got baptized in Nykøbing last week, his mom came from Italy to pick him up and Elder Jensen and I had to meet her at the airport and put her on a train to Nykøbing and the struggle was that she can't speak English or Danish... Only Italian and Spanish... And we cant speak either of those languages... It was way interesting and all i learned was no comprendo! haha! Then we played indoor soccer with this young danish bros which is a great finding tool and i played against the best bro ever! he was insane good! I talked to one bro and went off how i am from America and stuff trying to ask me why I am here and all i got was invited to the biggest bar street in all of Denmark in Aalborg.... haha good stuff! The next splits was with the APs on Thursday! So after District meeting I drove with Elders Bennet, McBride, and tank Erickson to interview C who got dunked in Taastrup last Saturday! It was an awesome expierence to interview her and it was the first one I have ever done! It was sweet! Way spiritual and it is awesome to see people truely repent and see that light from their eyes!! Then we taught the Aps investigator with a member. It was pretty dope! She kept on swithching back to English from Danish. So i guess they usually teach her in English but we had a Danish member with so we tried speaking Danish but it ended up being Danglish and then straight English. Haha and then when she prayed she spoke half english and half danish. #onlyincopenhagen Then we stopped by Andrea Barlow's friend J and we rang her buzz box because it is copenhagen and she said we could come back another day so we will see where that goes! Then we got all the scheemes from the Aps and I guess the next focus in the mission is to do exactly what Elder Erickson and I did last transfer and MLC this Thursday will be all about how the mission can be like our zone haha so that is sick I guess!!

Mobbing Around West Sjælland

So Elder Erickson and I got to give a district meeting to the two districts in the zones. The first one for our regualar district was at møns Klint and we did on the beach which was sick!! We trained on President Hinckly's book chapter three on optimism and lead that into faith and miracles! It was pretty fire! Then after on Wednesday we had a little picnic and then took pics and walked around Møns Klint which is the most mountain agtig thing in denmark! So that was way cool to see!! And we got some good pics!

Venner

So we were only in our area for two days so not to much happened here with all the bros we are teaching. We did get to teach A the older women and she said the book of Mormon is true and we tried getting her on date but she said is it enough just to have faith?? So we got some work to do with her. We have a lot set up this week so it should be a pretty fire week and we got member splits in Næstved tomorrow so it should be good!!

And William got the Priesthood last Sunday as well! And dont worry I got a haircut!! And Elder Erickson got transferred to Ordrup which is North Sjælland so the scheeme is that he will build up that zone because it is struggling! And health wise I am 100 percent!!! The excersises are the key so don't worry about me! We had one friend in church! And William has been in Norway the last couple days on a ski trip but he is doing good. No way Lauren is one years old!!! And I have never met here crazy how time works!! And I know a bro in the mission that got in to BYU as a transfer student with a way lower GPA than me so it shouldn't be a problem!! And I am scheeming about rooming with Elder Nielsen at BYU but we will see and I look forward to eating those ribs ;) Oh please send me a bracket so I can fill it out and see if I do better then when I follow all the games haha;) I love you guys so much!!!!
