Week #73 Slagelse

Start of another transfer here in the great land of Slagelse!! And the fire is still rolling!!

Friends

So our area is cruising right now and we love it! We literarry have no time to find! So Monday we ate with K again at the same members house and we have been trying to make an appoitment with her but we keep on getting busy or she gets sick... On Tuesday we taught M with a less active member. The lesson was all over the place i dont even know what to say... we talked about prophets, receiving revalation, the holy ghost... It was way weird because the member said we were being too pushy by inviting him to read the Book of Mormon... Just a big question mark lesson. Then we taught T down in Næstved again and had a way fire lesson with him! We taught about justice and mercy and he really wants to hear the Plan of Salvation! Then later that night we taught W with a member who we are way tight with in the ward who served in South Africa! We taught him the word of Wisdom and it went so gooood!! We read D and C 89 and focused a lot on the promised blessings. He really likes sport and i told him that i have kept the word of wisdom my whole life and i have never broken any bones or anything and he really liked that. He said that he always tried to keep the Word of Wisdom in the past but when his friends asked him why he won't drink he never had an answer... but now he does!! Then after the lesson W and M showed us way funny vines when me and Elder Erickson were home and died laughing!! Probably the funniest moment of my mission! Then Wednesday after District Meeting we had splits with Nykøbing and I went with Elder Allred from my MTC group and we just talked how our group was so legendary and funny stories from it. We taught I again. She is 85 and we read 3 Nefi 11 and I asked her if Mormons Bog is true and she said yes.. so i asked if Joseph Smith was a prophet and she said yea... So then Elder Allred asked her if she would be baptized and she said noooo! She doesn't really understand authority adn just pushes it to the side when we bring it up! So we will see with her. Then we taught a less active couple T and R and it was chill I guess. We got to know them and then asked to share a spiritual thought and then i was going to share a Mormon message and right before i played it i asked if they can understand English... .and they say noo.. so I quickly busted out the scriputers to give them the same message and then i asked them to read and they had trouble reading... awkward but we brought the spirit so it was ight anyways!! Then on Friday we taught C and S who are coming back to church. We had a throw down W of W lesson with them because that is the only thing holding them back! C said he will stop smoking after his birthday in a couple weeks and we busted out don't procrastinate the day of your repentance! And they have a grandson whose name is B who loves coming to church and could be baptized soon!! Then we had sports on Saturday!! THANK GOODNESS!! Haha it has been too long! So we played indoor soccer and a little basketball it was way fun! Then after we taught W the law of chasty and he told us he knew the change was coming so no worries there! We taught M again that night and shared His Grace is Sufficienct by Brad Wilcox. Then Sunday came and we had four friends in church! All of the members thought W was a missionary because he was wearing a Hugo Boss suit haha! So much swag!! Then we weekly planned and if you guys can remember that story of the people who invited us to dinner on Christmas out of no where... well one of them invited us over to watch handball and made us an old school Danish dish! So we got to learn the game of handball and watch the world cup final! It was way cool! Then we asked her at the end if she would like to hear the lessons and she said yes! So that was sweet!

MLC and Zone Lord Stuff!!

So me and Elder Erickson have been scheeming what we wanted to focus on as a zone this transfer to build off of the church invited goal. So we prayed and after a lot of schemeing and of course inspiration, we came up with this. So as a mission there could possibly be a Book of Mormon goal of giving out 2000 so our zone would give out 450. That would lead to 60 people in church which would lead to 15 on date and 5 of them baptized this transfer. We would also make a prayer list so that every morning and evening the whole zone would pray for everyone on date and everyone close and pray for more baptisms. We introduced this to the two districts this week and they were way stoked for it! Then comes the even cooler part... we set this goal before we knew the Brothern were going to make the key indicator change!!! So that is a testimony to me that this goal was truly inspired of God!! Quick story so after we presented the goal to to KBH district we were stuck in København until MLC so we had to go on splits with the office Elders. So me and Elder Shuppy were together when teh APS call us to tell us to meet them at their investigators apartment for a last minute service project. So we get there and they are not there and they investigator is an older woman from Greece who was a little crazy haha! She found this fridge in this storage place and made us carry it up like four flights of stairs... found out it didn't work... and then carried it down again... haha me and Elder Shuppy were ragging but when i go on splits with the Aps in the future she said she will make me dinner! So MLC was way fun! There was so many of my good mission buddies there! It was way clutch to catch up with Elder Bennet and Elder Nielsen! So what we talked about at MLC was the key indicator change, the schedule change, working with less actives, and helping members use facebook to spread the gospel to their friends! It was way fun then after we met up with W because he studies in København and he took us around Støjet and Ny Havn and we saw the little Merimaid! Way fun day!

So zone træning is on Wednesday in Roskilde and we are training for like 15 minutes about the new Book of Mormon goal and we have to answer all of the questions the zone has for the new schedule change, wish us luck haha! No way Rudy got baptized that is so sick!! And so that will be what our zone training will be on and the more flexible schedule will be pretty clutch. And we will watch that devotional for zone training this week as well :) And that is crazy Gonzaga is ranked third in the nation! Well fam i love you guys and remember to open that Book of Mormon every day!! ;)

Week #72 Slagelse

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I died when i read that first sentence! But me and Elder Erickson are going another one and we have a baptism in a couple weeks!!!!!!! Can life get any better???

Zone FIRE

So just a real quick update on the zone goal we had 14 friends in church as a zone yesterday which put the total to 74 which is about ten more then the last two transfers combined!!!! So sick!! And we have six friends on date in the zone so we are seeing the fruits from it!!!

Slagelse Magic

So I said we have a friend getting baptized in a month but i will get back to that ;)

So Monday insisted eating at Anny and Leo's house again like normal and K and O were there again. It was hard to teach them this week because K was sick but we had a stellar time with them. Then we had FHE with some of the younger bros in the ward and played a minature foosball game and some other board games so that was dope!

Then Tuesday we took J who put in his mission papers down to Næstved and we taught T and we talked about Christ and he just can't get over the fact that Christ performed the Atonement. We shared in Alma 7 I think.... that the spirit manifested that Christ did all those things for the people then and they could do they same for him! So we commited him to pray to ask God if God loves him and promised him that God cannot deny his love for him. Then we taught K who is pretty dope as well! She has an allergic reaction to her clothes so she usually only wears a towel around in the house... but don't worry mom... she had clothes on just for us!! haha! We taught her the Restoration and the spirit was soooo strong it was incredible! Then we taught M who got baptized a couple months ago and read Alma 40 with here and talked about the POS because she had a scare and almost died but she is doing great now! It was way cool to take J out with us it reminded me of when i always mobbed out with the misisonaries! Good stuff!

Wednesday was a good day as well! We taugh I who is 85 but she looks amazing!! She has read all the way to Alma 41 and LOVES the Book of Mormon! She is just scared that if she changes her religion that she would be too stressed and die or something... But she knows it is true so we will see if we can put her on date! Then i was sick again... so we stayed inside until Ms! We ate with the sisters and had a great time! He foound the best moments from General COnference and showed us! It was awesome! Oh and i guess i am getting pretty bad at english because when we were cutting the pie I didn't have the pie cutter and I asked a sister to pass me the tools! Haha they made sure i never forget that one and M said out of all the missionaries that get sent all over the world I got sent to him hahaha it was so funny!

Then that takes us to Thursday where we had district meeting and a district activity where we ate a huge lunch and played Mofia so that was really fun! Then we had to fix the sisters bike and do zone reports. Then we picked up the APs for splits! They are way solid guys and we had a way chill time!

On Friday we taught Anitta who hates the seahawks and we taught her a pretty good first lesson with a little oppostition explanation twist! Then we went down with the Aps to Næstved and taught M again because Elder Murphy and Hartmann helped baptize her! Then me and Elder Hartmann taught F who is a young bro who said if he found out this was true that that would mean he is a part of something bigger. It was the Danish soccer team's slogan but it is way true and a dope answer. Then we taught A who is another old lady and she reads the Book of Mormon every night and is in 3 Nephi now! Amazing! She hasn't prayed about it yet so we challenged her to do that! Then we went to Fs who was baptized by Elder Murphy and Elder Hartmann knows him so we stopped by and we watched the inaguration with him haha! Wasn't apostate because we had the Aps with ;) Trumps speech was pretty fire and he threw in a bible scripture which was pretty sick!

Then Saturday consists of weekly planning and having a ward movie night where we watched Joseph Smith Prophet of the Restoration and M came! I love that movie almsot makes me cry!
Then here comes the baptism talk.... SO the sisters are leaving and we were talking to one of their investigators W, last Sunday during our lunch after church about sports and music and everything possible and somehow it came up that he wants us to teach him when the sisters leave and we were like that sounds dope!!! So we are teaching him now! So W is 24 and is half Cambodian half Danish is going to school in Copenhagen for sports medicine and is such a bro! The sisters contacted him which was a miracle story itself because they were going to an appointment and W is trying to find himself in life. Well he is on date after two weeks and LOVES reading the Book of Mormon and is such a bro! So after the movie night we went to get kebabs with him and he bought us kebabs!! Then we just broed and he asked if we had girls back at home and how we keep the law of chasity and he really wants to get married and start a family and we taught him about temples and he lost his mind when he saw the size of them! And we told him about Fest i Nord and he lost his mind again haha and he wants to marry a Mormon Sweedish girl now :) Haha

Then we had church on Sunday and after church we had an official hand off lesson with Sister Dietch and Jex and it was way powerful! We taught him the Plan of Salvation and I really focused the true meaning of happiness and me and Elder Erickson kept bringing up the bros we baptized in Odense and how they changed through living the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how the Atonement changed them and W said he has been changed and he said people are noticing!! I love this gospel so much it works miracles!! Then we went to Roskilde because there was a missionary homecoming and Elder Erickson ate lunch with this missionary in his home town before his mission so they invited us over for the party!

No way school was cancelled 4 days because of the weather! There will be less summer break if that continues!! I love you family have a great week!!!!

Week # 71 Slagelse

LEADING THE MISSION!!

Family!! We are way pumped here in Slagelse!!! The work is on fire and the zone is on fire!!!! Life is great!!!!

ZONE FIRE!!

So me and Elder Erickson are going nuts over here! SO the zone goal was to get 60 friends in church and we were at 40..... Well yesterday the zone pulled in 20 FRIENDS!!! Truly amazing!!!! Everyone in the zone is way pumped and is going crazy and the zone is leading the mission by far!!!

And we reached our goal of 60 friends for the transfer with a week to go and we had Christmas and New Years on Sundays! Truly amazing! That is just a BIG testimony builder for me that miracles happen when you have the faith for them to happen! It is just amazing that Elder Erickson and I took to the Lord what the zone needed to focus on this transfer and he gave us an answer and the fruits of it have been enormous! And everyone in the zone is getting pumped and the fire is definatly spreading so it is awesome to be apart of it. :) We called around last night just congratulating everyone and everyone was stoked out of their minds!!!

SLAGELSE FIRE!!!

Our area is going completly nuts as well! Real quick story! Haha so we have four sisters here but that will be two because only two can live in the appartment and so President is transfering them somewhere else! So the ward found out and they are raging haha! They are looking for an apartment for the sisters and they want us to move to Næstved because they said they need more missionaries here because Slagesle gets the most baptisms here in Denmark! haha #wardpride Anyways! ME and Elder Erickson found 10 more new friends and so that is about thirty for the transfer!! So many bros!!! We have a good amount of progressing bros and we had four in church yesterday! And we had 5 less active friends!! So we had K and O over at a members house on Monday to eat and then read 2 Nefi 2 with them and then the lesson might have been taken over ;) I will just say almost every point of every lesson was taught but don't worry we will go over it again! Then on Tuesday we taught M. The lesson was about 1 Nefi 19:23 applying scriptures to yourslef. Then i shared Peter walking in water in Matthew 14 and pretty much compared Christ beckoning Peter to come as the Book of Mormon saying come to Christ it is more of me. Then Peter walking on water is like M praying but the winds come and he feared and started to sink. Then I asked M what he feared... he said nothing and then goes off about how the sisters in past were pretty jank to him.. Well that morning before the lesson we read about discerning concerns and Elder Erickson came in way clutch and said he didn't forgive the sisters in the past and that is his great stumbling block. M said he did by inviting us to teach him.. We left on good notes.. Well we taught him again on Thursday we were talking about the Book of Mormon and he stops and says that he forgave the sisters and pretty much thanked us for helping him repent! M is changing! And we got him to come to guest class after he swore never to come to guest class again because missionaries were pretty jank in the past i guess and he came!!!! He is feeding us on Wednesday so we will see then!! On Tuesday we taught T with our ward mission leader about Joseph Smith and Jesus Christ. The bro just smokes a ton but he is still searching for truth! Wednesday we picked up two new friends from the area book but got wrecked the rest of the day because i was sick so we bought ice cream and just ate our sorrows that night haha! Friday was splits and I went with my man Elder Adams!  I will just share on awesome miracle story! So we stopped by a women in the morning and she wasn't home so we prayed for inspiration where to knock. We decided 18 was the right one and the first door we knocked on became an investigator! She is so awesome! She knows a little bit about our church because her great great great etc. grandpa was a member in Denmark and immigrated to Utah and apparently had 4 wives... Anyways she goes off about family history and how she loves it and that turned it into talking about America and the NFL and I was saying how the Seahawks are beast and she liked the Packers and we talked a little crap lol... but Seahawks lost and Packers won so it will be awkward the next time haha... and then we taught her the Restoration and she was all for it and wants to meet and read and pray! She says there is something different about our message! Church was nuts!! So all of the Slagelse missionaries had 7 total friends in church and guest class was completly full! There was like 5 people standing because there was no more space!!!!

Dang that is soooo cold!! Shout out to Denmark with a car!! Well fam life is pretty great right now and I am just putting the cruise control on and loving life! Oh and read the talk The Book of Mormon man made or God given by Tad R. Callister! It is so good! Anways love you guys!!!!!!!!!!!

week #70 Slagelse

Slagelse FIRE!!!!!

Well all I can say is that our area has caught on fire!!! So we taught 23 total lessons, found four new friends, and got 6 new progressing friends. So our area has nine total investigators that are progressing and we are just busy as can be so life is great here! So we have M, American homie, and we was the investigator who has never prayed about the Book of Mormon before. He is reading five chapters a day and last Saturday we taught him again. We read his favorite chapter which is 2 Nefi 28 which is all about today with apostasy with other churches. And when we finished reading the chapter we asked him why that chapter is his favorite chapter and he closes the Book of Mormon and says is this the Book of Mormon or a newspaper.... Then Elder Erickson said he knows it is true and he didn't deny it! We have another single mom who is WAY prepared! We taught her last week and after we taught her the Restoration we asked her what it would mean if the message was true and she gave an amazing answer. She said that life is gray right now but if this was true then life would be blue and there would be hope. Life wouldn't be to be born, grow up, work and then die it would actually have a purpose! So she is way prepared and we are expecting a baptismal date soon :) We are teaching this older lady and she has a handicapped son and she is so humble and says this year she is focusing more on herself and because of the church focus in the zone, we invited her to church after the first lesson and she said she would love to come and be with loving people that are at church! I could just go on for days this area is doing great!! We taught T again in Næstved and his fam was all there! We talked about false prophets because he was saying that there are priests who know the bible perfectly but have no charity when the homeless people come in the church. We really focused on what a prophet is and in Matthew 7 by their fruits can we know them and focused a little bit on the fruits of Joseph Smith and a prophet today! We found D who is a young bro who loves soccer. I started the door contact in English because he was a young bro and then switched quickly into Danish :) The bro was blasting music and in the middle of the door step lesson turned it off to listen to us! We taught K og O again and they are progressing just very slowly! K is stopping smoking on her own and we didn't even have to tell her to! Lets go! We taught them the intro of Mormons Bog and they are eating with two members and us tonight so it should be good! Then me and Elder Evans was on splits on Friday and we found another young women who is studying medicine. She is the cultural Dane in reference to beliefs.. Never prayed before never gone to church. But she listened to the Restoration and took a Mormons Bog! She is way down to talk more and she has family in Seattle and I said I come from around there so we talked about Seattle for a little bit! We had splits twice this week. I was with Elder Shuppy and Elder Evans. Crazy to see how much those homies have changed over the mission. Funny moments was when we were teaching that single mom she was holding her baby and we asked her what the baby's name is and she said Minde and Elder Shuppy's face lit up and said that is my girlfriends name haha! I died mid lesson! Oh and my mission funds are way low already because in Næstved there is a CARL's JR!!! So we eat there every time on splits haha! It is so American! And the ward made a goal to have 16 baptisms this year and during fast and testimony meeting like 75 percent of it was about missionary work!! Life is just perfect here in Slagesle!!!

So the Zone hit 12 friends in church which makes the total to 40 which is right on track to where we need to be!! It is crazy how the Lord is blessing us with this goal and how if we really pray and ponder something the Lord will do his part and bless us in return #dandc82 :) We are hitting numbers never been reached before in the zone and all i can say is we are getting so blessed! That is so COLD!! It has been like minus 8 Celsius and it hasn't rained or snowed to much so we are doing fine with the car! HAHA Dad it is on! That is sick he got a trainer but pure talent never dies ;) And i don't know a brother Hull.... Who is his family members serving here??? Dang Gonzaga is ranked fifth in the nation lets go! And we talk a lot of football with M and he texted us at five in the morning on Sunday to tell me the Seahawks won! So clutch!! And me and Elder Erickson bought the same shoes that go perfectly with our suits and they were fifty percent off! They were so sick!!! Just wait til you guys see me off the plane ;) Oh!!! And President texted me on Wednesday confirming my extension so I am staying here until October 3rd!!!! #threebdaysonamish :) I love you bros so much! Thanks for all the sacrifices you guys make so I can be out here! I know this is true without a doubt and can't wait to see miracles happen soon!!!!!

Week #69 Slagelse

Godt Nytår alle sammen!!! 2K17 last year of the mission! It is crazy that I will be going home this year and that I was a missionary for the whole year of 2k16. Time just flies! But we had a pretty nuts week and found the most investigators I have ever found in my life in one week plus we got to see a war! Stay tuned!!!!

Anden Juledag!!

So after p day last Monday we went to this mysterious woman who called us out of no where. It ends up we are at a dinner party and so it is her, her husband, and two friends. We chilled and ate a whole bunch of food and just talked about everything possible. The whole dinner me and Elder Erickson were waiting to dive in and start talking about the church but the moment never came... We just got to be their friends and all of them were reliogus somehow. Finally at the end of the appointment we asked them if we could watch the light the world video and they said yes and after the viedo a bro asked us if we experienced any miracles in our lives and then we just went off and we taught them and bore our conversion stories and then we invited them all to church, #zonegoal, and they said they would love to come!! And one of the women wants to make us food and teach us how to play handball so it went great!!

Friends

So like i said we found 8 new friends this week!! So on Wednesday we had Elder Allred up on splits because Elder Beck was a little busy dunking a guy in Sive so we were in a tri. So Elder Erickson and F, a recently baptized member, taught M, our American friend, me and Elder Allred knocked this pretty wack opgang complex. It gets knocked like every month by the J Dubs and it was pretty nuts. Like we would be peep holed by all three doors on a row and it sucked pretty bad but the lat door we knocked a 25 year old women answered and she used to be believing but lost her faith and became athiest but is willing to get an answer from God if he is really there and she said we are always welcome so that was sweet! Then we finally set up an appoitment with an older woman and her down syndrome son because we delievered them cookies! They are the most humble people i have ever met and are sooooo sweet!! Then we taught K and O again and the scheem was to go in there and reteach the Restoration but K started asking about the three kingdoms of glory which turned into the WofW which turned into the Book of Mormon. Then on Wednesday we had an eating appointment with Holbæk's most positive friend and his parents who have been taught in the past. So we ate there with the Roskilde sisters and Holbæk and we just talked about conversion stories and forgivness and a little of the Plan of Salvation. They are in Alchohols Anomynous and I guess that is their church. Then the cookie stop by run on  THurday was successful with an old investigator, T. He is a bro who plays guitar and sings and LOVES history. He wants us to talk about false prophets and Jospeh Smith and his wife tagged along. :) Other than that we got dropped a couple times by some bros we found in Skælskør from our member Blitz Splits... But its ight for example so bro who was found by the sisters and took a Mormons Bog and said he really wanted to talk again said when we came by that he is J Dub and slammed the door. He was pretty creepy and a liar... haha! But this area is running again and good things are happening!

New Years #2K17

So the celebrations started when we ate hot chocolate and brownies with this young couple in the ward with the sisters and listened to their missions and had some pretty fun stories to share. Then we went to our bishops where we feasted!! Me and Elder Erickson were chilling with our home boy Mark who got back from his mission almost a year ago and some of the CUV squad for the Frederiksberg ward were also there! Our Bishop is hands down sooooo coool!!!!! Haha he went way hard with fireworks it was awesome! We had to be home at 930 but bishop gave us permission to stay to one in the morning.... Dont worry! We went home at 9 30 haha! Then we called some of the squad around the mission waiting for new years and then everywhere went crazy with fireworks!! And we experienced a war haha! So there was this party under a store called Fakta in our parking lot and these bros were shooting fireworks at the party. So this party comes from behind the store and they just fire at each other and shoot bottle rockets at each other hahaha! It was so funny! Then we had only one hour of church yesterday and I got to give a talk! It was a little struggle because I lost my voice but it went beast. Then we took a nap and because we have been so busy we havn't been able to buy food for the last two weeks and were completly out of food and christmas leftovers from the members, so we had the sisters make us food in the church and we played games!! It was way fun!! But it is crazy that it is 2k17 and time to make so new goals for a new year! It should be good!

So almost every Dane was hungover so it was way hard to get investigators in church but we had some as a zone and we are only 2 behind where we should be for our pace! So things are going great there! Sounds like a party back home for New Years!! And noo Washington lost... oh well! And i bought a way nice suit! Way European and you guys get to see it in 9 months! ;) Love you guys and remember to give out that Book of Mormon!!!!
