Week #3 MTC

Hej verden!!!! Va sa!! Whats up in Danish, you know i had to learn that one!!! Ha ha! So I made it half way through the MTC!! The is going by so fast and i love it!!! So since it is our hump day, me and Weese might be shaving our legs.... ha ha! That is the plan to do something crazy but in the rules, but i don't know if i have the courage to do it so you will find out next week!! Ha ha!! Okay so to clarify that days feel like weeks and weeks feel like days is that the days seem forever! And that the weeks just come by sooo fast!! Like i feel like it was just yesterday that i was emailing everybody!! 

Goodbyes

So I had to say goodbye to the famous Dutchy elders on Tuesday! It was sad, or traest pa dansk!! Those guys, or elders sorry all the rule followers out there, were sooo fun!! We made great memories with them! From balling out at foldbold to chilling at the rez, where we sleep, and messing around pranking people! I will send you pics of two of my favorite elders, we were great friends. But you know me, i am great at saying goodbyes now ha ha!! So i also sad goodbye to the main, JB Barlow which was sooo sad! We were planning on talking for like an hour during dinner on Sunday, but since it was fast Sunday the schedule got really messed up! But i saw him before the Sunday film and said by to him and took one last pic for 23 months!!! Sad stuff but i know without a doubt my boy will do work in Tahiti. Oh, so this isn't a goodbye, but I saw Phillip!! It was great to see him and we talked a little, and shout out to Danish because Japanese looks impossible. Talking about Moses Lake squad, i see Kenny sometimes and we like freak out when we see each other and give each other big hugs ha ha!! We get weird looks from people but i mean we got to get used to it because that is what we are going to get from people for two years!!!!

Sundays

So besides p day, Sunday is my favorite day!!!! So first it was fast Sunday so that means no talk to prepare and to give so yes!!! So we just studied till like 12 had, priesthood class then after we had a district class. I got to teach the lesson on the Book of Mormon and it was too spiritual!! Ha ha!! There has got to be onions in that room because my eyes were watering during my testimony on that so shout out to the onions, i'm not a crier... Lol!!!! Umm then we had a testimony meeting and then a temple walk. That was tough because no food!!! We didn't get fed til like five!! But its all good, fasting is vigtig, important. So we had a devo which was really good which i will talk to in a bit and then we had Sunday movie night!! Yay! Jeg elsker movies ha ha! So the plan was to watch the Joseph Smith movie but i guess me, my comp, and my boy Adcox who is going to Sweden, got stuck in a pioneer movie! It was really good! It is crazy of all of the early saints trials they had! But there was this kissing scene during the movie, and i mean, we are missionaries we don't need that in our lives! So i kind of laughed with Adcox and like a hundred to two hundred missionaries got mad at us! But don't blame me! We don't need to be seeing that!! Ha ha it was really funny!!!! Also, sisters who were sitting next to us were like, be quiet or my comp is going to kill you... Oh man!! Ha ha it still was a good time!!!

Danish

So this language is coming!! It is so crazy to like think back from when i got here to now!! Oh if you wanted to know, Det er fedt, eller, det er sight, means like that is sick in danish! But in danish it translates to that is fat or that is chewy!! Weird language!!! Can I tell you ha ha!! Okay so i was getting really confident with my Danish and everything but shout out to Jesus for humbling me. So on Thursday we had something called TRC, which is like home teaching in Danish for twenty minutes!!! The first guy served a mission in Denmark, but he called himself a nerd so that was funny to try to joke with him! Then we taught a lady who was born in Kobenhavn and she is going to Seattle this week!! Crazy!! I was like, Jeg elsker Seattle, Seattle er meget smuk! I love Seattle and Seattle is beautiful! But what i mean by Jesus humbling me is that they talked sooooooo fast!!! Geez!! I got a long way to go! But i will work hard and it will be fun!! So i have two like, the church is true, moments during my Danish lessons this week! ha ha! Okay so the first one i was teaching my teacher, or fake investigator, and he was being hard with us. We were talking about the restoration, shout out to Joseph Smith ha ha, and we were talking about God and he was like where do we come from and then he said forstar i, which is do you understand. And i was like yea, i understood everything and i didn't even know some of the words! Anyways my point is that i remembered a scripture in Abraham talking about before we came here and all that good stuff, and it came to my remembrance like bam!!! It was crazy!!!! Like i was never the best seminary student or anything and didn't know my scriptures that well, but i went right to it!! Second cool experience was that we invited our other fake investigator to watch general conference on Sunday and got in a huge discussion on prophets and our lesson plan was on on the plan of salvation and we didn't go near that plan! The holy ghost really does guide you even though it is a fake teaching opportunity! But Danish is coming and i can almost read and pronounce everything correctly so that is fun! ha ha Oh and there is a kid from Denmark going to Iceland, and we have been attacking him because he got here yesterday, to talk to him in Danish! Like hey, welcome to America now we want to talk to you in Danish ha ha!!! Good stuff!

Food

So i am pretty sure that the food is getting worse and worse each day!! For dinner last night i had to get captain crunch because the food was just not good! It was sad. But whoever is reading this right now, look of Jeremiah 4:19-20, and that explains perfectly the MTC food perfectly! So that is Elder Reeds good word for the week to everyone!! ha ha!

Sports

So gym time is so clutch like i say it is every week! I did miss it once because we had service in the morning and we had gym like at 6 30 so like my whole district just slept in! Ha ha i felt bad, not that we slept in, but because i missed balling! So we had a district volleyball game on Thursday, and we lost and i was sad ha ha! But we played today for like an hour and it was soo fun!! We played in the sand pits and i like dived and everything so i have like sand every where on me right now so that is fun stuff!!! Ha ha Oh then i played three on three soccer and it was great! I was megging, putting the ball between people's legs for all those non soccer players out there, like everyone! It was soooo fun! I played with Elder Allred from Germany and he is really good! Oh and also i played a little indoor soccer in our rez with Fairbanks Nerf basketball and that was really fun too!!! ha ha! Sweaty work!!!

The Good Word

So on Sunday there was a devo by Brother Allen and he is a like the tech guy for the church and he was sooo funny! He started out saying Byu sucks, losing to Michigan, and how good Utah is by them beating Oregon which still surprises me!!!

It was crazy! Then he was like is there any BYU football players in the audience and some skinny guy stood up and i was like, hes got to be the kicker... and of course I was right!! Ha ha Then he was hating on all of the Elders and told us not to flirt with the sisters.... of course we don't! So I have a story on that... so one night after class going down the stairs from class i started talking to these eight sisters and i asked them where they are going. And of course they said Washington! I was like, that's where I am from! Then they said they are going to Federal way and i was like, oh they are all ballers!!!! Ha ha! Then i told them i played in state against them, and they were impressed ha ha! But don't worry, know emails were exchanged and i'm focused on only the work here!! Ha ha anyways back to the talk, this guy was like the media commercial producer or whatever of Mormon messages from tv and like showed us a bunch! My favorite thing he said was that If people say you cant, you can! You have to believe in yourself and when people reject you, you got to still be confident! Also, he said to be yourself so that's what i'm out here doing! Then we got to watch Richard G Scott's funeral and my testimony of the atonement grew soooo much!! Man it was good stuff! I really like when one of the apostles said that Richard G Scott had an apostolic confirmation that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world which is awesome to think about! Then on Sunday Elder Costa from the presidency of the 70 spoke and it was really motivating! My favorite thing he said was that the best missionaries have a desire to serve God and to forget about themselves and I am going to definitely apply that in my life so i have some spiritual goodness everyday!

So all in all i am doing great! I love being a missionary and I love teaching!! The spirit is so strong when I testify in my broken danish and I love it!! My district is so awesome! We are so close but we mess around a lot and maybe need to focus a little more.... ha ha but fun is good to so we don't go crazy in this place! ha ha Oh and shout out to Katelynn for being the best dancer out there! That is so sick that she got to dance with Alex Boye!!! His music is clutch! I miss music so much and i love to hear anything because it is sooo motivating!! Jeg elsker musik!!! So i'm about to take a clutch nap right now so that will be sweet! Oh and i'm so excited for my fosleday and general conference! Oh man!! It will be dope!!!! Oh and shout-out to Calvin for going to New Zealand!! That will be sooo sick and im excited for him ha ha!!! I miss you all and I love you mom and dad! Jeg ved at evangliet kan stykker famalie. Week #2 MTC

Hej Familie og Alle!!!!!

Okay when i heard that the days feel like weeks and the weeks feel like days, I thought people were just crazy!!! But it is so true!!! Haha wow it felt like just yesterday I was writing to you guys so get prepared for some pretty crazy stories!!!

So Last P-Day

So p-day literally feels like Christmas! Maybe it is because I get to hear from you guys or maybe it is because i get to play soccer for two ours... haha just kidding!!!!!!!!! So since the word in the MTC is that doing laundry is crazy we do our laundry at six in the morning which sucks... haha!! But their is like know one their so it is nice! So anyways, My goal last p day was to get a nap but that didnt happen so I was kind of wrecked for the next couple days and oh man i was tired! But anyways, then I played soccer and tore it up, i mean its not like we keep score or anything but we do count the number of times the ball hits the back of the net... so that isnt breaking the rules right??? Haha!!! So today we are playing the Dutch district in a game and i am so excited!! So it is supposed to be a "friendly" but you know me and sports and there has been the friendly missionary styled crap talk so I cant wait to play it is going to be sooo dope!!! haha!! Shout out to Coach Bill for teaching me everything I know so i can tear it up.................. lol for everyone back at home who knows what I mean! So we go to the temple on p day also and that is #spiritual! It is awesome and my mind was blown when i saw that their was a cafeteria in the temple. Shout out to Columbia RIver for being small but awesome haha! Then we have a three our classs session on p day night so that will be sweet! If i get my nap today!! That is the main goal, besides inviting others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel.... You get the point haha!!

Moses Lake Fam

Okay so it was sad to see Josh go to Russia but I cant wait to hear back from him and what kind of crazy scary things are happening! SHout out to Denmark for being one of the safest countries in the world!! Knocking on wood right now.... So then i had to say by to Ralph which was kind of sad, we had a great time hear in the MTC!! I know he will do work in Sweden. I saw Kenny more often and it was great to catch up with my boy!! Ha ha I guess his language sounds crazier than mine if that is possible!! Wow!! Then i talked to my boy since literally day one Jonathan for like an hour on Sunday because we both didn't go to choir which was the best decision of my life.... I kind of feel asleep during the first choir practice session so yea, choir is not the life for me... anyways back to my boy JB!! I missed him so much!! It was so great to catch up, see how life is, and talk to each other in our mission languages!!!! It has only been a couple weeks and i had stories and stories to tell him so image what it will  be like in two years!! Mind blown right!!! Oh and i saw Garin!! When I went to play soccer last p day he was in charge so we played on the same team and balled up!! We connected on a lot of goals so that was sweet!! Shout out to Moses Lake soccer and bill for making an impact on the MTC... Oh man Haha!! Then I was walking back and I saw my boy Lewis!!! Haha!! He is a clown and I loved talking to him!! I think i need to give him my basketball shows before i say Farvel, goodbye in dansk, to the USA!! haha! Craazy that i saw two of my good friends older brothers in the MTC in the span of 10 minutes! #itsasmallworld

Sunday 

So besides P day, Sundays are my favorite days of the week!!! So we get no classes which is fantastic!! Well just say that it is a great break!!! So i had to prepare a talk in Danish, shout-out to google translate...., haha, and prep a lesson on repentance for Priesthood!!! So me and my comp killed the lesson, which is a good thing for all the people over thirty... ha ha, we talked about how important it is that we are worthy so we have the Spirit with us because if we do not have the Spirit with us then, well you know, not good! It was great and I felt the Spirit so strong!! Me and my comp are great teachers together! Okay, so a scary thing happened on Sunday. After we got chewed out by the Branch Prez for us, which i will get into later, me and my comp had to teach him a lesson, in English thank the lord, on the spot in like thirty seconds of preparation because we have had are past of arguing over what to teach and I guess some little bird told him so yea... So i just starting preaching the good word, i mean, you know me, haha, and it just flowed. The main point the Branch leader as trying to make was that you and your comp are teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and nothing should be in the way of that. After that we had sacrament, i didn't give my talk, shout-out to whatever for me not being picked, and then we went to a temple walk. Then I went on splits with my boy Elder Weese because we did not want to do choir, and he was having some back probs so we kind of didn't go to the devotional so he could rest. Then, these Dutch Elders who are like our new best friends who were actually skipping the devo, came into our room, and distracted us with a muscle contractor thingy and it was crazy haha!! But dont be mad, we went to the last part of the devo and it was on Joseph Smith and it was super Spiritual and they played praise to the man, the music video, and let me tell you, Joseph Smith is true and everything on that!!! It was great!!

Danish

So Danish is coming so much like what!!! I know so much!! Like praying an actually pray, not like a primary pray, and can bear my testimony. I can say a lot of things, oh and so for our lessons we could use notes, but my last lesson yesterday, I only had to look on my notes like twice!! #giftoftongues I love it!!!! Oh so kindof sad story. So we just started with three fake investigators who are our teachers, and one was so hard. I tried to explain in my broken Danish the restoration of Josheph Smith and the difference between the Bible and the Book of Mormon, and I thought i did a good job, but my teacher or fake investigator or whatever, was being so hard. I felt kind-of dumb after the lesson but shout out to sports for teaching me that when you suck or fail, you just got to try it again and my lesson yesterday was soooo much better, and shout out to the spirit for making me feel the spirit if that makes any sense... haha!! Oh!! Shoot!!! So for all of you who are not aware, my folseday, or b day, is coming up so i told my teacher that, and so she taught us how to sing happy birthday in Danish and it is the dopest thing I have ever heard. It is now my new favorite song, sorry to all the rappers out their but happy birthday in dansk is so much better, it is my jam here!!! Oh and if you wanted to know, sokker bold in danish is a ball of socks!! I think it is important to write down, or typoe down, because i brought it up in class and everyone died of laughter but I mean I'm just a little jokster haha!!!

Food

So the food is ight on its good days but oine day they had ribs!!!!!!!!!! I was in heaven, well higher heaven because the MTC is like heaven so whatever. Oh and if you are wondering i have actually lost like a couple pounds, so i still fit in my pants if you are wondering!!! HAHA

District

So like I said I have a huge district. There is 14 of us with two sisters. The elders not in my room are Elder Jensen, who played soccer back at home and he is pretty chill! Then there is Ericksen who has all these crazy impersonations!! When he reads quotes he talks like the prophet which is crazy!!! Then there are two other quiet kids but I guess they get down at chess!!! Oh and there is this kid from who lived in Germany for a couple years and his name is Elder Allred, shout out to the Bishop Allred! I always think of bishop when i see his name tag its funny! But all in all, we are all pretty great friends and we get off tract a whole lot.... Haha maybe we are too good of friends but it is awesome!!! 

P Day Today

Ight, so so far I did my laundry, oh took my suit to the dry cleaners because ummmm i might have got food on my blue suit.... whoops haha!! Then I played soccer against the Dutchies!!!!!! So they were all talking up how good they were so i was pretty pumped. But the grass was so wet here that I would always slip whenever i tried to cut in... it made me mad. But we ended up tying two two, i mean we didnt keep "score" but the ball hit the back of the net on each goal twice. The Dutchies had this kid from Portugal, shout out to Ronaldo, and he was pretty good, and one of the Dutch Elders I made good friends with was really good too. But who "put the ball so it touched the net"... Thats right, me!!! Haha no pride Jesus wasn't prideful, oh and Garin played on my team because we were short players and he scored too! So shout out to Moses Lake right there!!!!!!! Haha so im just going to finish up a couple emails and then go try to fit in a nap before the temple!!

Fun

So I got three crazy stories that happened this week! First, haha, me and my boy Weese had this great idea. First of all, my comp has this horrible alarm clock that rings like i don't even know but it is sooo annoying. So we had this evil plan to set it for two in the morning and like yell at the alarm and break it.... And it sounded like a great idea at the time, but when it went off i just fell right back to sleep, so stupid idea. Then we like pretended to be all mad at his alarm in the morning but i think we got caught so woops.... Haha! Okay get ready for this story!! It is the craziest thing you will hear, well for the MTC. So remember the buddies I made playing basketball. Well, first, on Tuesday they were about to go to the best mission in the whole world... Pocetello Idaho!! haha okay! So one of there comps stuck so laxatives, 6 to be exact, in his soup and took it. Then the other guy who tried to hit on the sister, ate a soup with 20 plus laxatives!!!! They where puking like the whole night and went to the hospital so it was craazy, and it was the night right before they left!!1 Man!!! Oh so on the subject of drugs... so you know what melatonin or however you spell it right. Well it helps you fall asleep so we had the bright idea of all taking some at 8 at our last class, which went to 930. So like 7 people took the sleeping pill, and they were wrecked!! Don't worry I didn't take any so be proud!! Say no to peer pressure!!!! Anyways, the word got out and our District prez like chewed us all out so it was scary!! 

Gym Time

So gym time is pretty much my bae... but its not a good word in Danish... kind of poop but not the good word for it... but anyways! Me and boy Fairbanks ball out!!! These kids are not that good so we ball out everyday!! I love it!! I played this kid from a five a school in Utah and did work on him!! Shoutout to Hohman!!! Haha!! Gym time is clutch oh and shoutout to balling with the old guys in the morning because im always tired in the morning but I still do work!!

So I love it here! I love being a missionary!! It is awesome, I'm just missing my naps but hopefully I will get some soon so that will be clutch!! Week #1-MTC

Hej familie!! Jeg elsker dig!! So for all the haters out there... I made it to week one!! HAHA I love it here! So since I am about to write you guys a novel, I will split it up into sections!!

  First Day
So day one. Man it seems like it was just yesterday! So I got onto the plane with kenny and I met another guy from pasco and he is going to Cali on his mission and I actually saw him again in the MTC, but i will get into that later! SO we landed and kenny's uncle picked it up and we went to temple square and we took pics because i mean you know me right! Haha! Then we went to Provo and ate for a place called Bon Bon's and that was great! They serve missionaries for free when they report so I got free ribs!! Those were so clutch! Then we went to byu and saw allison and quincy for the last time! We posed for a bunch of picks and of course took my famous video! It was great to here that it made it on BYU's story! That was funny! Then we went to the MTC! A host got me and kenny and all of our leggage and took us through getting my name tag and books and all that good stuff! Then when i walked out of the book store, Jonathan came up to me! I guess he was waiting for me and i freaked out and yelled JONATHAN! And gave him a huge hug and i almost tackled him! Everyone looked at me weird which was great! HAHA! Then i dropped off my luggage in my room and went to my first class. One thing crazy about Wednesday is that everyone knew gets a dot and people always say... Welcome to the MTC! So it felt good to take it off that night! So anyways i went to my first class and it was in Danish!! I was like alright lets bring it on!!! Haha they taught me how to introduce myself and stuff but shoutout to the app on my phone for helping me already know that! But i will get into Danish in a bit!

  Food
So the food is all right i guess! But it makes me feel so fat!! Haha i need more gym time for sure!!!! So my favorite has been spaghetti because i mean you know me right! And of course i did not get anything on me so that was sweet! Haha! So usually for breakfast we wake up early and get a sack breakfast which usually is chocolate milk, a doughnut and of course cereal, you know me! We do that so we can get more study time and we are too lazy to dress up to go into the eating place then undress because we have gym right after! So I have stayed away from the orange juice which has just gotten negative reviews for the stomach so yea! Oh and also I stay away from the chocolate milk because that can get addicting! Haha Oh and yes, i do still fit into my pants!! But all in all the food is good but my fruit snacks are clutch at night to eat because I always eat snacks all the time and we dont get snacks which makes me sad! So send fruit snacks! That would be fantastik!

  Sleep
So the first night I could not sleep that well so I was so tired on that day!! So i have been kind of bad and going to sleep like at 11 30, like thats when i get into my bed so i mean you know me and staying up late! But there was a good reason for that so dont worry! I slowly but surely and getting used to this sleep schedule but no naps is not clutch at all! I need naps! But i am good!

  Danish
So the first two days of Danish were rough! I was like, man i suck and I am not going to learn anything! But the gift of tongues is so real it hurts! Haha Tunglegaven i dansk!! I can pray, bear my testimony, sort of say a few phrases like ball is life! I had to learn that one! But I have already taught four lessons to a fake investigator and I can do it wiothout less and less of a script everytime! It is fantastik! But I love teaching! Teaching lessons is the best! And i love learning danish! I have made so many notecards it hurts my brain! Haha but i cant wait to learn more!! Danish has some crazy words and it is so hard to read like d's and g's in the middle of a sentence make like an l sound... i dont know but I Love Danish! Jeg elsker Dansk!

  GYM TIME
 I love gym time!! It is my favorite! I love playing basketball! I have made so many great friends balling and i see them all the time in the MTC and we are cool!! I play with Elder Fairbanks in my district and he is good and we have a great time balling!! It is great and I love it but I think we are playiong soccer as a district in a bit so that would be dope!!! I miss playing sports all the time and I feel fat but Im good with the schedule!

  District/Companion!
So like i said my Comp is Elder Jensen from Idaho and we do work when we are teaching lessons! Haha In my room their is Elder Adams, who know Danish pretty well and he is a really nice kid and kind of gets us all on track when we mess around... lol! Elder Howe is sarcastic and I love it! Elder Fairbanks reminds me so much of Andrew Cameron! Haha they talk exactly the same which is great!!!! We ball together and have a blast! Elder Weese and I are also great friends! We talk all the time and just have a great time!! Me and Wesse and Fairbanks stay up late some times and talk which always isn't a good reason to stay up but it is nice!!

  Moses Lake Squad
I love seeing all my friends from Moses Lake. Like Jonathan i freak out and i haven't seen Kenny that often which is sad! I talked to sister Lybert which was fun and Josh! So the reason i have been staying up late is that Josh is on the bottom floor of my building where i sleep (rez) and we talked for like three nights before he left to Russia so that was really nice! It made me sad saying bye to him again! So Ralph like broke his foot and everything and so all the Sweedes left him behind so he hung around me yesterday, and we were comps with my comp! So me and Ralph were comps which was awesome!!!! We talked all the time and it was sooooo nice! We are going to be together for the next week so that will be clutch!! We went on a run last night, me and Ralph, and I felt so fat, but it was nice to work out again!!! Oh and the guy from the airport i saw going to cali, we talk a lot now and I guess we might have played each other in basketball. He went to Chiawana so that was sweet!!!!!

  Spiritual Goodness
SO the MTC is great! I have never felt the spirit so strong! Especially during my priesthood lesson about the Atonement! Then I listened to a life changing talk by David A Bednar called the character of Christ! It pretty much said to turn out to others and not yourself so i am definitely going to be doing that more!!!! That is my main focus now each day is to help others!!

  Fun 
So Elder Fairbanks brought a basketball nerf hoop and we played Dansk, or you could say horse one day and it was super fun!!!! We kind of sort of bet, which i don't think missionaries can do but shhhh, don't tell on me!!! Also, I love talking too my new basketball buddies and one of them gave a sister a note that said, can i have your email during a devotional! Ha ha it was great and made me laugh!! So I miss you guys so much but i am totally 100 percent in on this mission! I love it here and it is the place that i need to be! Oh and nick has a girl already! Its been like two weeks!! His game is too raw!! That is definitely my bro!!! Jeg elser jer! Vi sis naeste ude!!!! Aldste Reed
